In 2024, the Women's Centre of Calgary provided hygiene items 10,362 times.
Below is a list of free services we offer to women.
We also provide information and a wide variety of referrals to social service agencies in the city.
Peer Support
Peer support is trust-based, support from trained volunteers that women provide to each other.
Our peer support is:
- non-judgmental
- non-therapeutic
- delivered on a one-to-one basis
Peer support is available to women who need:
- basic needs support
- information about community resources
- direction based on a question or concern
- someone to listen
- access to feminine hygiene products, incontinence products, and diapers

Shop Days
When available, you can book a 10-minute appointment where you can shop for available personal care items like:
- shampoo
- conditioner
- body wash
- toothpaste
- makeup, and more

Community Drop-in Space
The Women’s Centre is a safe place for women to connect with other women and build community. Our space offers:
- a sitting area
- washrooms with period supplies and sexual health products
- free coffee and snacks
- an events board with information about the Women’s Centre and community events
- a community bookshelf
Computers & Equipment
Women have free access to:
- computers with internet
- a printer/photocopier
- a fax machine
- telephones
We also take telephone messages for women and offer free computer workshops, or support.
Birthday Program
With their child’s I.D., mothers or primary caregivers can come in two weeks before or after their child’s birthday to choose a gift from our Birthday Program.
